International organisations are established to promote cooperation among countries, maintain peace, strengthen friendly relations and address common political, economic and social challenges.

United Nations Organisation (UNO)

The United Nations Organisation (UNO) was established in 1945 after the Second World War to maintain international peace and security. Its major aims and objectives include preventing conflicts, promoting peaceful settlement of disputes, protecting human rights, encouraging social and economic development, providing humanitarian assistance, promoting international cooperation and supporting sustainable development throughout the world.

Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was established in 1969 to strengthen unity among Muslim countries. Its objectives include promoting cooperation in political, economic, educational, scientific and cultural fields, protecting the interests of the Muslim world, supporting peace and justice, safeguarding Islamic holy places, encouraging mutual understanding and addressing issues affecting Muslim communities globally.

South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC)

The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was established in 1985 to promote regional cooperation among South Asian countries. Its aims include improving the quality of life of people, accelerating economic growth, promoting social progress, strengthening regional peace and stability, encouraging cultural exchanges, increasing trade and cooperation, and addressing common regional challenges through collective efforts.
