The 3rd June Plan was announced by the British Government as the final constitutional proposal for transferring power in the Indian subcontinent. It accepted partition as the practical solution to the political deadlock between the Indian National Congress and the All India Muslim League. The successful implementation of the Plan ultimately resulted in the creation of Pakistan and India as two independent states.
