The transport network of Pakistan shows clear regional differences. The Punjab Plain has the highest density of transport routes because of its flat land, large population, agriculture and industrial development. Sindh has a dense transport network due to major cities, industries and ports such as Karachi Port. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has fewer routes because mountainous terrain makes construction difficult, although important highways connect the region. Balochistan has a lower density of transport routes due to its large area and sparse population, but routes connected with Gwadar Port have strategic importance. Northern mountainous regions have limited transport networks because of physical barriers, but important routes such as the Karakoram Highway provide connectivity. Maps help identify the variation in transport route density and patterns across different regions of Pakistan.
